Councillor Suzie van Opdorp

Blue Mountains City Council, Ward 1

Suzie joined City of Blue Mountains' Mayor Mark Greenhill and the Labor team in 2021 as a Ward 1 Councillor and has since worked hard with the community to best represent their views and interests in Council. In 2024 Suzie was re-elected, along with fellow Labor Cr Suzanne Jamieson, and serves as Alternate Deputy Mayor.

As a long-term Blue Mountains resident Suzie is aware of strengths, gaps and what needs to be done to ensure resilience and sustainability. A recipient of the Local Woman of the Year award, Suzie is recognised in the Blue Mountains space and beyond for her commitment to fighting social and economic inequality, and promoting individual, community and planetary health.
